Carte Blanche was very engrossing and the pacing was excellent. There weren’t any parts that I wished I were done reading. Could it have been the subject matter? I enjoyed the book because it told a story of love and trust. The BDSM elements were thoroughly explained to the point where someone who has little or no knowledge would not be lost following the storyline. I loved Grace. She was a strong Domme but she also showed that she was sensitive to her sub’s needs and wants. (...) Ray was a fun character for me. He always seemed to want to push a little more to see how much he could get away with but at the same time he was very cautious and aware. Their scenes together were nothing short of hot!

Kallysten has written a tale of murder, mayhem, and intrigue that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go until you submit. Her characters are fully fleshed and I quickly fell in love with Grace and Ray. Grace is one kick ass woman; she has just recently come into her own again after years of suppressing her true nature. It was a delight to watch her transform into her persona of Mistress Red. Ray was sexy, submissive, and a vampire, observing his interactions with Grace and his Master offered us an intriguing glimpse into his psyche. The sensual scenes were hot and best of all were interwoven smoothly into the plotline and added that bit of extra spice to an already awesome story.
