His new club, On The Edge, catering to vampires and humans, is a smashing success, and the beautiful vampire Lisa is everything he could have dreamed of.
When an old lover of hers, Leo, shows up at the club, Brett’s immediate fear is that he will lose Lisa. But if he just stops thinking long enough to follow Lisa’s lead, he might gain a lover instead of losing one.
She let go of his hand once they had stepped into the bedroom, and Leo watched her and Brett divest one another of the little bit of clothing that covered them before they knelt on the bed, facing each other. Lisa was as beautiful as ever, full curves, delicate skin and a lovely face. But to see her like this—her breasts become perfection, cradled in Brett’s hands, her lips appear fuller as she pressed them to her lover’s, her thin, long fingers close around Brett’s erection—all of it made her even more gorgeous. And it didn’t hurt that Brett was a fine-looking man himself.
His eyes never leaving them as they continued to kiss and caress, Leo got rid of his clothes. His hands trembled a little, and he popped a button of his shirt when it wouldn’t come undone. He certainly hadn’t been celibate ever since parting ways with Lisa, but she had been his first lover after he had become a vampire, his confidante as they both learned to use their fangs and sex-appeal on humans, his friend and maybe more, even if those words were rarely heard amongst their kind. The prospect of joining her—and Brett—was wrecking havoc on Leo’s self-control.
One heated night brings together two men and a woman, one of them human and the other two vampires, but when morning comes there are more questions than answers.
Brett, the human owner of the new club “On The Edge”, hires Leo as a bartender, but unexpected security issues threaten their burgeoning trust. For his part, Leo is caught in the same pattern that once caused him to lose Lisa, and he struggles to adapt and allow his new sleeping arrangements to last as long as possible. And Lisa, who brought her two lovers to the same bed, now realizes that she also invited back in her life a past she thought forgotten.
Will they be able to make it work, or will this ménage collapse after a few nights of lust?
It was disappointing to wake up alone after having gone to bed with Brett and Leo. The former had been her lover for almost a year, while she had shared her nights with Leo for decades until they had separated fifteen years earlier. All she had to confirm that she had not imagined the entire thing were their lingering scents around her and the last notes of pleasure still drumming inside her like an echo. Her last thought before she had fallen asleep had been to hope her morning would be at least as interesting as her night, if not more. Instead, she was alone in a cold bed. Clearly, she would have to teach her men some manners. Continue reading…
Leo couldn’t have said what it was that woke him up. Sometimes, a car driving down the quiet street in front of the club sufficed to pull him out of a too light sleep. Sometimes, one of his sleeping lovers shifted against him and roused him. Sometimes, and he liked those occurrences best, a gentle hand, or an even gentler mouth, settled on his cock and awakened it, and him.
Neither of his companions stirred, however, as he drifted out of sleep. He slowly became aware of Lisa resting behind him while Brett lay in front of him, an arm thrown over his waist, close enough that their semi-hard cocks rested together. Wakening further, he instinctively started arching his hips forward, seeking contact and friction. Brett’s cock responded in kind, hardening against his own. He reached between them to let his fingers play on Brett’s skin, and was disappointed by the grumbling reaction his touch received.
Vampires don’t grow old; it doesn’t stop Leo from dreading his birthday and the yearly disappointments it brings back.
This year, though, with two lovers in his life, the day might just take a better turn. Lisa knows him well enough to guess what he doesn’t even realize he needs, while Brett is ready to give – and ask for – the greatest gifts.
All Leo needs to do is hang on and ride the wave when it comes.
The contemporary city of Haventown is famous for its tolerance of vampires. One of its clubs in particular, On The Edge, is a meeting place for vampires and humans who are curious about them. Continue reading…
As the evening progresses and Daisy witnesses the seer Sam Woods giving her friends visions of their future, her opinion of Woods slowly changes. Maybe he isn’t the charlatan she believed, after all, and maybe all these glimpses of other people’s happiness are harder to bear than he lets on. His admission that he never felt real love, soon echoed by her friend Brett, leaves Daisy uncomfortable enough that she eavesdrops on Brett and Woods’ conversation.
For all his fears of not finding the person he is destined to love, Brett discovers in his vision that he will fall in love with not one lover, but two. Two vampires, in fact, a man and a woman, both of them so precious to him that he wants to show his love by offering them wedding rings. But when one of them refuses to wear the ring, the perfect relationship he thought he had starts to crumble around him… or does it?
In November 2011, my readers took part in a poll and told me which of my characters they would enjoy seeing featured in an anthology of short Holidays stories. Here they are, offered as a token of my appreciation for your support.
Whether they celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah or the beginning of a New Year, these five couples have something in common: love.
With Before The Edge coming out in a couple of months and Beyond The Edge lurking at the end of the year, I decided to have new covers made for the original trilogy so that they all match. Here’s the cover for the new book… and those for the oldies!
I’ve finished updating the files across the sites, although the changes might take a couple of weeks before they come into effect in some stores. While I was at it, I dropped the prices of the trilogy across the board. On The Edge and Walking The Edge are now $0.99 each, and Over The Edge is $3.99.
Another new thing: if you bought these stories from Alinar, you can now get the Kindle (mobi) file and the Epub as well as the PDF. The Kindle and Epub files are bundled in the zipped HTML file. I’ll be converting more books over the next few months and intend to have all of them available as Epub and Kindle eventually.
And finally… If you read and enjoyed these three stories, I would be really, really grateful if you could drop to your favorite ebookstore or review site and leave a review or give whatever number of stars you think they deserve. All my thanks in advance!
Glass shattered. A hush fell over the bar. Brett’s head jerked up.
The sound of breaking glass was not all that uncommon. In a bar as busy as The Cliff was, accidents happened often enough, and Brett had a line in his budget specifically for broken glass. It was rare for said breakage to be the fault of Wallace, the bartender, or Chloe and Kelly, the two waitresses. The three of them were good at what they did, and their promptness and smiles earned them generous tips from most patrons. Usually, an accident was a sign that someone had had a drink too many, although Wallace was also pretty good at cutting people off when he thought they had had enough. If the sound was more ominous, John, the bouncer, had a knack for calming potential problems before they could escalate. Continue reading…
Picking up Irene's tale right where we left it last week...~~If you want the plain, hard truth, here it is: I had killed men for lesser offenses than playing my music without my permission.Of course, that had been during less ‘civilized’ times, when a dead body found in a ditch somewhere with his throat torn […]
